Definition of Terrorism: The political use of terror, violence, and intimidation to achieve an end. Terrorists have been known to use a variety of methods to carry out their unlawful activities. In general, a terrorist incident could involve an:

Incendiary / Explosive

In the event you come upon an incendiary device:
1)    Do NOT touch it. Note where it is.
2)    Call the Campus Police Department immediately.
3)    Leave the area and check for other devices on the way out.
4)    Pull the fire alarm and go the designated safe zone.

Chemical / Biological

Some indicators of the possible use of chemical or biological agents include:
1)    Unusual occurrence of dead or dying animals.
2)    Unusual numbers of people exhibiting serious health problems.
3)    unusual odors, liquid, spray, or vapor.
4)    Suspicious devices or package.

Nuclear / Radiological Event Anywhere on Campus

Radiation is an invisible hazard. There are no initial characteristics or properties of radiation that are visible. Unless nuclear/radiological material is marked accordingly, it may be some time before the hazard is identified as such.
